Terms of Use for the Hominium Application

Last updated: September 16, 2026

1. Service Provider and Contact

The service provider and distributor of the Hominium application is Karol Zawada, an individual conducting unregistered business activity in Poland under Article 5 of the Polish Entrepreneurs' Law of March 6, 2018, referred to below as the “Service Provider”.

For questions about the application, complaints, or user rights, contact support.hominium@icloud.com.

The Service Provider's verified contact details required under the European Union Digital Services Act (DSA), including address and telephone number, are available to users on Hominium's Apple App Store page.

2. Scope and Nature of the Application

Hominium is a tool for organizing personal finances, including recording transactions, categories, wallets, savings, obligations, assets, custom forms, and creating and restoring backups.

Hominium is an organizational and informational tool. It is not a banking or accounting service and does not provide financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice. Users should independently verify information, calculations, and charts before making financial decisions.

3. Conditions of Use

Using Hominium requires a compatible Apple device, a supported version of iOS, and an Apple Account required by the App Store. iCloud synchronization also requires an active Apple Account, access to iCloud, and an internet connection.

Users may use the application in accordance with the law, these Terms, the Apple Standard End User License Agreement (EULA), and Apple App Store rules.

Users must not bypass security measures, interfere with the operation of the application or Apple services, attempt to access another person's data, or use the application unlawfully.

4. Hominium Premium

Hominium offers one automatically renewing subscription called “Hominium Premium Monthly”, with product identifier pl.karolzawada.hominium.monthly. The billing period is one month.

An active Hominium Premium subscription allows users to add, edit, and delete data using the application's features. Without an active subscription, users retain read-only access to existing data and can export data, create an available backup, and delete their data.

4.1. Price and Free Trial

As of the date of the latest update to these Terms, the standard subscription price in the Polish App Store is PLN 9.99 per month. In other countries, the price and currency depend on the local App Store. The price and currency displayed by the App Store immediately before purchase confirmation are always binding.

Apple may offer an eligible user in a supported App Store country the first month free. Apple determines trial eligibility for the user's account and subscription group. The application displays the trial offer only when the App Store confirms eligibility.

After the free month ends, the subscription becomes a paid monthly subscription and renews automatically unless the user cancels it before the next renewal date.

4.2. Purchase, Renewal, and Cancellation

Purchases, charges, renewals, purchase restoration, and subscription management are handled through the user's Apple Account and the Apple App Store. Users can cancel the subscription in their Apple Account subscription settings.

Cancellation prevents the next automatic renewal. Premium access remains active until the end of the paid or free period shown by Apple. Deleting the app or Hominium data does not cancel the subscription.

The price may change for future billing periods in accordance with Apple rules and applicable law. Apple provides required information about a price change and, where required, requests the user's consent.

The subscription is associated with the Apple Account used for the purchase. It can be restored on supported devices using that account. Hominium Premium does not currently support Apple Family Sharing.

4.3. Payments, Refunds, and Consumer Rights

Payments and refund requests related to App Store purchases are handled by Apple under Apple's terms and applicable law. Cancelling a subscription does not automatically refund amounts already charged.

These Terms do not exclude or limit mandatory rights available to users under applicable law, including consumer rights relating to digital services.

4.4. One-Time Unlock for Multiple Budgets

Hominium may offer a separate non-consumable purchase called “Multiple Budgets”, with product identifier pl.karolzawada.hominium.multiplebudgets. The purchase unlocks the ability to create up to three personal budgets and is not part of the automatically renewing Hominium Premium subscription. The App Store always displays the price and currency before purchase confirmation.

The purchase is associated with the Apple Account and can be restored on supported devices using that account. Revocation or the absence of a verified entitlement does not remove, hide, or block read access to budgets that were previously created or restored; it only prevents the creation of another budget.

5. User Data

Users retain rights to data entered into Hominium, including transactions, descriptions, categories, wallets, asset data, and custom form data.

Users are responsible for the accuracy of entered data, the lawful use of imported files, and the protection of their device, Apple Account, and exported backups.

Details about processing, storing, and deleting data are described in the Hominium Privacy Policy.

6. Synchronization and Backups

iCloud synchronization is optional. Its operation depends on factors including internet access, availability of Apple services, device settings, and being signed in to the correct Apple Account.

Hominium allows users to export a full backup. Users should create their own backups of important data and store exported files securely.

Deleting the application or local data does not automatically remove data stored in iCloud or previously exported files. The Privacy Policy describes how to remove data in more detail.

7. Availability, Updates, and Service Compliance

The Service Provider makes reasonable efforts to keep Hominium working correctly and maintained in accordance with the agreement and applicable requirements. The application may receive security, stability, compatibility, and feature updates.

Temporary errors or limitations may occur because of the device, iOS, internet connection, or Apple services. Users should verify particularly important information and maintain their own backups.

No limitation of liability applies where it would conflict with mandatory law, including consumer protection law.

8. Complaints and Support Requests

Complaints about the operation of Hominium or compliance of the digital service can be sent to support.hominium@icloud.com. Where possible, a report should include a description of the issue, app version, device model, and iOS version, without attaching private financial data or full backups unless separately agreed.

Issues involving App Store billing or refund requests can also be submitted directly through Apple's support mechanisms.

9. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be changed for important reasons such as changes to Hominium's features, the Premium model, the way the service is provided, Apple requirements, or applicable law.

The current version is published at https://karol9321.github.io/hominium-site/en/terms.html. Where required by law, the Service Provider will provide appropriate advance notice of a change that materially affects user rights or obligations. A change does not affect rights acquired before it takes effect.

10. Final Provisions

These Terms are governed by Polish law, subject to mandatory rules that cannot be excluded, including consumer protection rules.

Matters not covered by these Terms are governed by applicable law and the Apple Standard End User License Agreement for applications distributed through the App Store. If these Terms conflict with mandatory consumer rights, those rights take precedence.
