Privacy Policy

1. Data Controller
The data controller is Karol Zawada, an individual conducting unregistered business activity in Poland under Article 5 of the Polish Entrepreneurs' Law.
For privacy-related matters, contact support.hominium@icloud.com.
2. Scope of the App
Hominium helps users manage a household budget. The app may store financial data entered by the user, including transactions, categories, wallets, savings goals, obligations, assets, purchase proofs attached by the user, custom forms, and backup files.
The user may optionally save their current location on the device as Home or Work to use smart shortcut recommendations.
3. Where Data Is Stored
- Local data is stored in the app's database on the user's device.
- Home and Work points and local recommendation-learning data are stored only on the device, outside iCloud and Hominium backups.
- After the user voluntarily enables iCloud synchronization, data may be stored in a private CloudKit database associated with the user's Apple ID.
- A full backup export is saved in a location selected by the user. Hominium does not control how that file is stored afterward.
4. Purpose of Processing
Data is used solely to provide the app's budgeting features, synchronization selected by the user, and backup creation and restoration.
Hominium does not use advertising, analytics, user tracking, crash reporting, or its own server to collect user data. The app uses Apple system services including Core Data, CloudKit, iCloud Drive, Core Location, and CloudKit change notifications needed for synchronization. Network availability is checked locally on the device.
Location access is optional, works only while the app is in use, and is used to recognize the context Home, Work, or Away. Coordinates are not transmitted to the developer, iCloud, or an external server.
Users may enter personal data in descriptions, comments, names, or forms. Hominium treats such text as part of the user's budget data and does not use it for other purposes.
5. Sharing Data
Hominium does not sell user data, use advertising, or share data with data brokers.
Apple may receive data as the provider of iCloud and CloudKit services if the user voluntarily enables synchronization. The app currently uses no other third-party SDKs that process user data.
6. Deleting Data
Users can delete local data from within the app. This action removes the local database, settings, automatic backups, the local iCloud cache, saved Home and Work points, and local recommendation-learning data, and disables synchronization on that device. It does not remove data from private iCloud, iCloud Drive, or data owned by the owner of a shared budget.
Deleting data does not automatically remove backup files previously exported by the user.
The app may create a local safety copy before restoring data. iCloud snapshots are limited to a maximum of 5 CloudKit records and 5 visible iCloud Drive copies. A manually exported backup remains in the location selected by the user and is not controlled by the app.
Users can delete Hominium data stored in iCloud through the system iCloud storage settings for the app. Deleting the app or a local copy of the data does not automatically remove data from iCloud.
7. In-App Purchases
Hominium offers a monthly, automatically renewing Hominium Premium subscription. Apple may offer an eligible user in a supported App Store country the first month free. Payment, renewal, purchase restoration, and subscription management are handled by the Apple App Store.
After the subscription expires, existing data remains available for viewing and export, but adding or editing data requires active Premium access. Deleting data or the app does not automatically cancel the subscription; users manage it in their Apple subscription settings.
Hominium may also offer a separate one-time purchase through the Apple App Store that unlocks multiple budgets. The app checks the entitlement verified by StoreKit and does not receive or store the user's payment card information.
8. Security
We use security mechanisms provided by iOS, Core Data, and CloudKit. Users should protect their device, Apple ID, and exported backup files.
9. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated when app features, data processing, or legal requirements change. The current version will be available at https://karol9321.github.io/hominium-site/en/privacy.html.
